Why not try Krabi?
For anyone living in Pattaya or Bangkok there is a strong likelihood that you could do with a break, and also see parts of Thailand that are truley spectacular. So, why not try Krabi? The locations stark contrasts will strike you especially if you travel by plane and take off to the views of Bangkoks urban skyline and then land to the views of lush vegetation and blue seas within Krabi. Ao Nang seems to be the main tourist town which is popular with all nationalities, there is certainly no significant group like found with the 56% of tourists in Pattaya that are Russian. It also feels better than Pattaya as a coastal location, lets face it the beaches and views are far, far superior to the City of Varieties that is Pattaya. Ao Nang is clean and has a spread of restaurants, hotels and casual shops. It’s pleasant. Much To See At Sea! Our small group opted for daily excursions from this town to Phi Phi and James Bond island and, although it must be stated we travelled in low season during late August, we paid around one thousand baht per person per trip. Great value and exceptionally picturesque. The surrounding area is has well maintained roads and with only light traffic, you may well hire a motorbike safely and do some exploring. The million year shell fossil beach nearby is free as well as the many temples including one with over 2000 steps. Next time you want to get away from it all maybe the krabi area is a better choice than than the more famous areas of Phuket or Samui.
