The World Boxing Council will host the first WBC MuayThai world convention, in conjunction with the annual WBC Asia Boxing Convention, in Bangkok, from March 14-16, at the The Athenee Plaza Hotel.
The convention will bring together MuayThai fans, boxing fans, fighters and promoters from all corners of the globe for a gathering to celebrate the rich culture of the sport and art of MuayThai and the sport of boxing.
An elite fight night at Bangkok’s famed Lumpinee stadium, featuring four WBC MuayThai world title contests, and one WBC Asia boxing championship fight, will be staged during the convention.
Moreover, there will be an in-depth, two-day MuayThai seminar and workshop for MuayThai ring officials, covering judging, referring and the fight supervisor responsibilities. All aspiring and experienced MuayThai ring officials are welcome to join.
The WBC will also host a two-day, in-depth ring officials seminar and workshop for boxing, coveting the Ten Point Must System, referee’s duties, and more. All aspiring and experienced boxing ring officials are welcome to join.
The convention will welcome a host of elite MuayThai and boxing champions from Thailand, and around the world, to celebrate their past and present success, such as Seksan Or Kwanmaung, Samart Payakaroon, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, Wanheng Meenayothin, Superlek Kiatmoo9 and more.
The weekend will witness the showcasing of the rich heritage and culture of the sport of MuayThai, celebrate sixteen years of the success of the WBC MuayThai, and champion the exciting sport of boxing throughout Asia.
The conventions guest of honor will be World Boxing Council President, Mauricio Sulaiman.
